Choice
The staff respond to individual needs so there is no
pressure for residents to adhere to strict rituals and
routines, thereby fostering the residents freedom to
choose. All residents are entitled to have someone independent
of the Home who will act for them in their best interests.
Advice regarding Advocates can be given on admission.
Personal Care Services
Close liaison with relatives and professional agencies
has ensured a very positive approach to care in a field
where there can be a lot of negative feelings and attitudes.
Doctors
We are registered with local GP practices, who have
a particular interest in our work. Hospital appointments
and Doctors referrals are treated in exactly the same
way as when the person is in their own home. It is always
preferable if relatives can accompany residents on any
specialist or Hospital appointment.
Nursing care
Our goal for the residents who live in Spring Mount
is to remain fit, mobile and active, our ultimate aim
is for our residents to live the whole of the rest of
their life with us. Inevitably some residents will require
some nursing input at some point along the way. The
District Nursing services provide any specialist nursing
care required, as you would expect to receive in your
own home.
Homoeopath, Chiropodist, Dentist and Optician
These are available from fully qualified therapists
who will visit the home upon request. There are charges
made for some of these services.
Reviews
We regularly review every resident, at least once per
month, and set new aims and objectives in conjunction
with relatives and outside agencies. Relatives are encouraged
to read the care plans whenever they wish and be actively
involved in the Care Planning process by attending reviews
or through discussion with the staff team.
