Way back then we pioneered the "Fast Factor" concept with a fleet of two-way radio controlled vans operating an on demand delivery service. Nowadays this has given over to mobile phones and GPS satellite tracking systems.

Motex was one of the first independents to go computerised, including the use of "electronic parts cataloguing". Now we can offer our customers computerisation and business systems to help their businesses.

All this started from a small retail accessory shop in Mawney Road Romford with the name of "Fairspares" changing later to Express Motor Services; this title was used up to the end of the eighties.

Through the nineties three distribution warehouses operated under the "Motex group" banner, one using the "Traders" name. With the retirement of one of the original partners in 2004 all three businesses were merged to form a new company Motex Automotive Distribution Limited.

Today Motex operates from 4 warehouse distribution points, Romford, Chelmsford, Wickford and recently Southend, supplying quality replacement motor products to independent garage workshops, franchised dealers, national chains and national fleet operators.

Motex is a member of The Independent Motor Trade Factors Association "IFA" The Automotive Distributors Federation "ADF" and the Garage Equipment Association "GEA"
