Providing care for children aged between 3 months to 5
years
Little Foot Steps day Nursery is based in Acton located on
Woodlands Avenue in Acton Hill Church Centre; we are based
upstairs in the centre. The nursery is registered for 26 children
6 being babies and 20 aged 2 to 5 years old.
Our rooms provide a warm stimulating environment for all
children to learn, explore and develop to their full potential.
Each child is assigned a 'key worker', who will be responsible
to oversee your child and their progress and performance at
the nursery.
Our Policies are available at any time if you wish to see
them.
We have adopted the new early Years Foundation Stage into
the nursery - a government curriculum for planning learning
for children from birth to five. A visit to any nursery will
show how the learning is developed under the four main principles
of:
- A Unique Child
- Positive Relationships
- Enabling Environments
- Learning & Development
Your child will have an individual development observation
and record. The key worker will monitor each milestone they
develop at their time with the nursery. These are shown
to parents on request and during parents evening.
Our qualified and experienced staff are dedicated to the
development of the babies and young children in our care
and the children's play experiences are based around their
developmental needs.
From the age of three months, babies are given new experiences
according to their individual needs. As well as encouraging
physical skills for crawling, standing and walking, it is
vital that babies to learn through their senses, sounds,
smells, physical contact, singing, games and talking.
Enjoying early games such as peek-a-boo, clapping, finding
hidden objects and many more, will all be part of your child's
daily play. There will also be opportunities for one-to-one
interaction with staff and other children. Depending on
the weather conditions, your child will also spend some
time each day playing outdoors in the nursery garden.
From around the age of twelve months your child will start
a gradual move into our toddler room. Here your child will
begin to experience natural materials such as water and
sand as well as discovering the pleasures of play dough,
printing and brush painting - all with close supervision
of course.
